Wyre Forest Crematorium

Cole Jarman advised on the architectural acoustic design of this RIBA award winning crematorium and chapel of rest. The location close to an industrial complex required particular detailing to the glazing and roof in order to keep out external noise and provide a calm and serene internal environment. Internally, a bespoke timber slatted ceiling was developed with the architect to enable suitable internal acoustics to be mixed with the desired visual aesthetic. Highly sound insulating, but lightweight constructions were detailed to separate the noisy machinery of the crematorium area from the adjacent quiet chapel.
