Vivi, Centre Point

Centre Point is a 1960’s grade 2 listed development including a 33 storey tower, a nine storey block and linking occupied bridge. Originally offices, it has recently been largely converted to residential.  The link block incorporates two restaurants.

The upper level is occupied by Vivi, part of the Rhubarb Group.  The units shell is concrete and glass, which if untreated would have led to a very reverberant space.   However, for a restaurant of this type an atmosphere with a buzz is still required.  Cole Jarman assessed the internal acoustics of the public areas advising on alternative treatments to suit the desired aesthetic whilst providing the sound absorption desirable

“The site is a tricky Grade 2 listed space which had lots of glass and hard surfaces. It required competent acoustic input to ensure the space will work well as a buzzy restaurant and bar. Cole Jarman’s proposal worked with our design. Ourselves, the client and customers are pleased with the acoustic result.”
