University of Hertfordshire College Lane Campus

We provided acoustic consultancy services through design and construction phases for new student accommodation at the University of Hertfordshire. The scheme included over 2,500 new student bedrooms, an energy centre and a central services hub building. Acoustic consultancy was provided to ensure suitable control of external noise ingress, together with design of internal structures to meet Document E and BREEAM requirements. Work on the energy centre focused around the control of noise from the extensive plant located in the facility (CHP, district heating and gas generation from woodchips), to minimise any impact to the surrounding area. The scheme achieved a BREEAM Outstanding rating and was shortlisted for the 2018 BREEAM awards, RSK provided BREEAM services.
