We were the acoustic consultants working on behalf of the operators of this three-day music festival. This event was highly ambitious for a virgin festival site and noise management drove the local authority’s concerns.

We used noise mapping techniques combined with extensive ambient noise surveys to predict noise propagation and create a noise management strategy, which resulted in a successful application for a Temporary Event License under the Licensing Act 2003.

This demonstrated the viability of the site for different wind conditions and stage arrangements allowing the site to be used and the event policed using the limits from the modelling.
