Project Atria

The Royal Papworth Hospital is a six-storey building which is situated approximately 15m from the proposed Heart and Lung Research Institute building (Project Atria) at the closest point.

The Royal Papworth Hospital Trust expressed concerns that construction induced noise and vibration generated by the construction of Project Atria may cause disturbance to their operations, particularly in the Critical Care Unit bedrooms facing the site.

We were appointed by SDC (principal contractor of Project Atria) to carry out an assessment to predict the noise and vibration levels that would be generated during the works and assess these against the project standards, as defined by the third-party acoustic consultant.
