Mark Hill Substation Extension
We were instructed by Scottish Power and Energy Networks to undertake a noise impact assessment to support the substation extension project for new plant installations at their Mark Hill windfarm site in South Ayrshire.
This involved setting up a 24-hour unattended logger at the closest receptor and taking source measurements (of the existing plant at the site) in the form of daytime boundary measurements. The results were used within a desktop noise modelling exercise to determine the future noise contribution at the measured site boundaries and at the nearest sensitive receptors to the site of the new plant from source data and new plant location information provided by SPEN.
