Imperial College Chemistry

Cole Jarman were appointed by Imperial College to provide acoustic consultancy for their new Chemistry Building at Wood Lane Campus. We provided advice on the conversion of the scheme, which was originally intended as a conventional teaching block, to facilitate an NMR imaging suite amongst other highly vibration sensitive laboratories. Being located adjacent to both a busy railway line which includes freight traffic, and the elevated section of the A40 Westway, this proved to be a challenging yet rewarding task.

We also provided acoustic design advice relating to the fit-out of internal spaces including expansive open plan and cellular lab spaces, entrance atrium, 250 seat lecture theatre, and offices.
