Clarendon Centre
An existing shopping centre in Oxford was extended and refitted internally. There was a requirement for the emergency voice evacuation system to be intelligible throughout the public spaces, made more difficult due to the hard surface finishes proposed.
A three dimensional model was constructed and used with specialist software to map the intelligibility of the proposed public address system. The results of this were fed back into the design development and recommendations made to optimise the loudspeaker layout and subtly modify surface finishes, ensuring that suitable intelligibility was achieved throughout the building.
