Chelsea and Westminster Hospital

We carried out an investigation of noise from existing cooling plant affecting neighbouring residential properties. This involved detailed measurements and an investigation of tonal noise from the cooling plant, in response to an abatement notice by the local authority.

Measurements led to the development of a strategy for modifying the installation to reduce the tonal noise. The noise control strategy had to be developed in a cost effective manner that would enable continued operation of the hospital throughout the works. Liaison with the local authority was a key requirement to ensure a successful abatement of the nuisance.
