Ashford International

We were appointed as acoustic consultants on the design and construction of the new international railway station at Ashford. Part of that work involved an assessment of the noise and vibration impact on the station building due to high-speed passenger and freight trains.

We advised on the form of building shell to control noise break-in, and we also advised on the internal design to ensure suitable sound isolation between adjacent spaces. We specified particular finishes to achieve internal acoustic conditions that ensured suitable characteristics and acceptable intelligibility from the PA system.
