Cole Jarman are appointed for the redesign of the Royal College of Music estate, and to continue our long standing association with this most reputable of music conservatoires.
As part of a multi-disciplinary team, led by John Simpson Architects, Cole Jarman have been appointed to provide acoustic design consultancy throughout the ambitious project. The team was appointed having won an architectural competition in the face of fierce opposition from a number of other prominent UK architectural practices.
The scheme includes: two new multi-functional performance venues; a new home for the Museum of Music; new communal spaces for audiences with cafe-bar and restaurant facilities, as well as new recording facilities and additional practice and teaching rooms for the College.
The project is currently undergoing consultation with the local community and it is anticipated that the two year building programme could commence as early as 2016 for completion in 2018.
