On a warm summer’s day in August, members of the Cole Jarman team got together for a day of kayaking and canoeing on the River in Henley on Thames. To start the day off, staff members were kitted out with the necessary equipment and taken out on the river for a gentle introduction for those who hadn’t paddled before and a re-cap for those who had. Once everyone was sitting comfortably (and not too wobbly) the team set off on their first trip around the local island. With everyone returning safely from the first voyage, it was time for a fantastic lunch next to the river bank, enjoying the sunshine.
Fully fuelled and eager for more, the team then set off on the next expedition to explore the local stretch of river including the famous Henley Reach, home to Royal Regatta each year. Once back to the club for a second time, the day was rounded off by a number of games (involving people getting very wet!) and well deserved trip to the Angel on the Bridge Pub.
All in all a fantastic day was had by all and we hope to be able to do it again soon.
